Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Service Overview

Lumio is an interest-based social app that helps people meet and build genuine, respectful connections around shared interests such as language, culture, travel, movies, sports, music, food, and books. Members create a profile, choose interests and connection intents, discover others, and chat. By downloading or using Lumio, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 17 years old — or the age of digital consent or majority required in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater — to create an account and use Lumio. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you will use Lumio in line with all applicable laws. Lumio is for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use

Lumio only works if everyone feels safe and respected. You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, or intimidate other members.
  • Post or send hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content.
  • Solicit sexual services, money, or engage in any commercial or fraudulent activity.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or age.
  • Share content involving minors, or attempt to use Lumio if you are under the required age.
  • Share another person's private information without consent.
  • Spam, scam, or use bots or automated tools to access or manipulate the service.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy toward objectionable content and abusive behavior.

4. User Content & Conduct

You are responsible for the content you share, including your profile, photos, and messages. You retain ownership of your content, and you grant Lumio a limited license to host and display it so the App can function (for example, showing your profile to people you may connect with). Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.

5. Safety Tools & Reporting

Lumio provides tools to keep you in control:

  • Report: flag any profile or conversation. Reports are reviewed by our team.
  • Block: instantly hide and cut off contact with anyone.

We review reports and may remove content, warn, suspend, or permanently remove members who violate these Terms. We aim to act on serious reports promptly.

6. Your Data

How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy. You can edit your profile at any time and delete your account — and the data associated with it — from Profile > Settings > Delete Account.

7. Device Permissions

Lumio may request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, and notifications. These are used only for their stated features — profile photos, voice and video calls, and message alerts. Permissions are optional and can be revoked at any time in your device Settings; denying one disables only the related feature.

8. Account Suspension & Termination

You may stop using Lumio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, harm other members, or use the service unlawfully. We may also remove content that breaches our guidelines. Removing your account does not entitle anyone who was removed for a violation to return.

9. Intellectual Property

Lumio, including its software, interface, mascot character, branding, and design, is owned by Lumio or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Your use of the App grants you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use it on your device, and no other rights.

10. Disclaimer

Lumio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we work hard to keep the community safe, we cannot guarantee the conduct of any member. Always use good judgment when meeting or communicating with new people. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted performance.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumio and its affiliates shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the App or from interactions with other members.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, the updated version will be reflected by the "Last updated" date. Continued use of Lumio after updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
